Here's to a boxing story I missed last month:
Claressa Shields, a 17 year old Flint, Michigan native, will be one of the female boxers representing the USA in the 2012 Summer Olympic Games to be held in London .
After losing her first amateur fight at the AIBA women’s world championships in Qinhuangdao, China last month, Shields qualified for one of two or three olympic berths in her weight class.
I'm still not much into women's boxing, but this young lady has earned the support of U.S. boxing fans throughout the nation. Give'em hell this summer Claressa. Bring home the gold!
Claressa Shields is outstanding boxer at Olympic trials
