Raiders Show Improvement With Second Win

The Raiders, trailing 20-17 going into the 4th quarter against the Houston Texans, scored twenty-one unanswered points to finally close out a game in dominant fashion. Thanks to RB Josh Jacob's rushing extravaganza of 143 yards and 3 touchdowns, the silver and black offense looked balanced and unstoppable. Credit the offensive line for one helluva day opening holes, pushing the Texans defensive line into submission.

Meanwhile, the Carr to Adams connection was alive and well with Davante hauling in 8 receptions for 95-yards. Hunter Renfrow was back and made his presence felt. Can't wait to get tight end Darren Waller back in the offensive lineup.

As for the defense, they had their first pick-six interception in God knows how long. A Duron Harmon 74-yard snag and romp. After bending all day, they finally stepped up in the fourth quarter to finish off a pesky opponent.

This might have been the best overall game played by the Raiders this season. The coaching was at its best with adjustments to the passing game (short checkdown passes) and sticking with a heavy dose of Josh Jacobs handoffs. If the Raiders can get healthier on defense and solidify their DB coverage play, they might be able to turn this season around.

Good Game Raiders!

Just Win Baby!

Dodgers Eliminated, Yankees On-The-Brink

This is why I love October Baseball. When your team misses the postseason and teams you love to hate suffer embarrassing postseason losses, it makes the regular season worthwhile.

The 111-win Dodgers didn't ColLApse against the Padres in their NLDS series loss, they were simply outplayed by a better team with more hunger in their bellies for a championship.

The 5th seeded San Diego Padres are heading to Major League Baseball's NLCS round to face the 6th seeded Philadelphia Phillies. Which just goes to prove yet again that in the MLB Postseason you can throw out the regular season records of all participants. And that is why we watch the games.

Meanwhile, over in American League Land, the media darling Yankees awake this morning to a win-or-go-home scenario. Last night's ALDS game 3 found the newly named Cleveland Guardians down two runs in the bottom of the 9th inning against one of the best teams in baseball featuring the best single season home run hitter since Barry Bonds.

Three runs later the Guardians are seen storming the field in walk-off winning fashion after a comeback for the ages. Guardians rookie hero Oscar Gonzalez does it again with a two out, two run single, putting the Yankees ALCS hopes in serious jeopardy. And again, this is why we watch the games.

Somewhere in Cleveland there's a red-blooded American dressed up in old Indians Baseball gear, howling while performing a circular war dance in preparation for today's Game 4 showdown. You buddy are why they play the games...
