Trying to decipher which agency is responsible for what might require a course in government regulations policy. For example: Sausage meat is inspected by the FSIS, while sausage casings that enclose the meat are the FDA's responsibility, because they have no nutritional value as meat. To learn more about this food sharing responsibility here's a link breaking down some of the complex setup in layman's terms:

The actual reason I'm posting about food safety though is not to scare folks into a plant-based diet, (which I'm proud to safely subscribe to) but to inform the public that there's a website available alerting us to current and past recalls. And if the saying "You are what you eat" carries any weight in your food choices, then you'll wanna copy this link to your browser favorites. Here's the link:

Following is the link to the FDA recall list. And in case you didn't know, Not All Food Recalls Have Press Releases or Public Notices. Think about that for a minute..... Why Not?:
FDA

Below I've copied from the the FSIS recall activity listing the past 30 days. In that time there have been 18 recalls. What's the chance that one of the recall products can be found in your refrigerator/freezer? For us non-meat eaters who might indulge every now and then on a shameful processed-food snack for old times sake, there's one product on the list that might be found on our shelf; Pork Skins...….Sorry meat eaters, beef-chicken-pork make up the remainder of the list. Turkey appears only once. Pescatarians eat your heart out!
