The Great Transformation - Death

In the last ten months I've lost friends and relatives who at some point in my life we had a special connection. Two of those who passed-on trod 90-plus years upon this earth, and I feel truly blessed to have shared earth-time with them.

In soothing my grief, I have revisited books on my shelf that help bring peace and understanding to the mystery of death. The biblical verse "Weeping may last for a night, but joy cometh in the morning," can definitely be attributed to my condition after each departing soul took leave. For I have spent more time celebrating memories of times spent with them, than suffering the pain that loss always seems to bring.

What I have tried to do over the years is change my perspective on friends and relatives who have passed-on. I see them in a new light, and I'd like to believe they see me in a new light too. That special connection we had in life somehow becomes stronger and more understanding, even with death as a curtain in between.

I feel I have access to them all the time, and they access to me should there be a need. So, for me, life on earth becomes more a celebration and less a struggle to survive, because I have so much more to celebrate. And so little to fear.

I feel I have soulful beings, some might call angels, who are always present to make sure I continue to tread a righteous path and connect to all life, and someday death. They have become for me God's ambassadors, beacons lighting the way along the road I must continue to travel.

I love life! And I hope to bring out the love in others in my death someday. It all becomes a matter of perspective.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Trump Target Letter Justified

Former Judge Michael Luttig says Trump "dared, taunted, provoked and goaded" DOJ to charge him

From CNN's Jamie Gangel and Shawna Mizelle

Former federal Judge J. Michael Luttig said on Tuesday that Donald Trump being a target in the Department of Justice's January 6 investigation is a consequence of the former president's own provocation.

"The former president has left Jack Smith no choice but to bring charges, lest the former president make a mockery of the Constitution of the United States and the Rule of Law."

Luttig, who was appointed to the federal bench by President George H.W. Bush, previously called the Republican Party base "spineless" for its continued support of former President Donald Trump and submitted that the GOP is destroying itself.

Meet Ms. McLAREN

Met my first TikTok Star last night in Beverly Hills. He seemed cool and casual, very down to earth, not nearly as high-brow and mesmerizing as the date he introduced me to.

While hanging out on a tropical, Hot Summer Night in L.A., I came across this stunning beauty all draped out in her lavish, lavender silks. And as with any hot body, she outshone and outshined all the lovely ladies in the club. She need not brag nor boast, only lounge there in her velvety smooth and delicate garment, as passing men uncontrollably succumbed to her teasing charms.

She laid there with the intrinsically, powerful magnetism of a Queen of Sheba or Helen of Troy, luring men of all walks to come worship at her skirts.  I can attest to the strength of her alluring beauty; she was simply irresistible.

One look and I thought of nothing but inquiring about who she was, where she resided, and how I might possibly arrange a private meeting with this City of Angels Cleopatra. However, as I began approaching her, I heard my name being called. It was my girlfriend’s sister from across the street, reminding me where to meet them after I came back from finding a bathroom.

I soon snapped out of it and came to my senses. I was no playboy in his twenties adding to my harem of lovelies, I was a man past his prime, committed to a lovely woman full of care and trust. She may not have the mesmerizing sex appeal of a Cleopatra, Sheba, or Helen, but she provides me with so much more than that. I’d been hypnotized into becoming an old fool by a charming siren known for sinking the ship of many a man. But for the grace of God, almost went I.

My warning to men about the beautiful objects we catch ourselves lusting after in life. If you find yourself wanting to chase after a beautiful Siren of one form or another, and the chase requires you abandon something already bringing peace and joy to your life, “Snap Out of It!

Not only is the grass not greener on the other side, but it’s also full of snakes as conniving and controlling as the serpent who offered a man named Adam free bites of the forbidden shiny apple.

Listen to the call of your conscious and return to persons and things already bringing value to your life. A moment of weakness can lead to a sentence of suffering when making sudden decisions based on our passions. And although you may have survived many battles throughout life, you have vulnerabilities. Remember Achilles.

Sirens can seduce the strongest of men. After my close encounter on this night, I determine it best in life to leave sirens to young playboys collecting toys for play. They will find out soon enough the cost of a "pay to play" affair with a seductress as beautiful as a Goddess.

McLaren is that beautiful siren.

Author Breaks down Southern Racism

59 years ago in 1964, a local sheriff in Neshoba County, Mississippi (Cecil Price) assisted the Ku Klux Klan in murdering three young civil rights activists. What the lawman and klan had in common was their southern bred belief in white supremacy.

What catapulted this southern killing of civil rights activists into a national story, unfortunately, is two of the three young men were non-black (Jewish). Adolph Hitler's Nazi war regime was nineteen-years in the mirror, and the world was still desperately trying to heal from atrocities the Jews of Europe had suffered at the hands of German Monsters.

Author William Bradford Huie was a son of the south, growing up in neighboring Alabama and resettling there with his wife in the late 1950's. The investigative reporter in Huie led him toward many of the civil rights headline stories of the 50's-60's era. He was a conservative who as a World War II war correspondent had seen enough killing and injustices abroad to make him abhor the hatred and injustices being inflicted on minorities and others at home.

Huie's book, "Three Lives for Mississippi," was published in 1965, a year after the three young activists were killed. Below, I share a link to an interview the author gives upon the release of his book. I found the interview revealing of William Bradford Huie, the man and his beliefs. But most importantly, I found in the interview reasons for WHY Southern White Men Can Kill Innocent People of Color or Others, feeling justified in doing so, and not be held accountable for it.

WHY? Because Southern Justice had written into the Constitution's bylaws a rule stating, "blacks had no rights which the white man was bound to respect." (1857 Supreme Court Ruling, "Dred Scott vs Sanford)

What I get from Huie is white supremacists who perpetrate violence against peoples of color believe they are protecting home, family, country, and way of life. When white supremacists see a successful and/or wealthy person of color or other, it distorts and disturbs their false belief of white supremacy. So, they act to erase the truth staring them in the face, replacing it with hatred, anger, and violence, the white supremacy kind.

Huie's interview is a great educational tool for anyone needing to understand American Racism and the fears and ignorance of white supremacy. He says he's more a realist than an optimist when it comes to man's cruel and warring ways toward fellow men. "It's been going on since the ancient Greeks," he says.

Although Huie says he's lost faith in men treating all men respectfully as equals, he believes in the American experiment of a Democracy of Laws; "a government of the people, by the people, and for the people." But which "people?"

In a Democracy where only convicted felons are barred from voting, the road to fair and just laws governing its citizens can be rocky and full of crippling potholes. Governing leadership cannot be unfair or unjust in their duty. A government of the people, by the people and for the people, needs be represented by all the diverse democratic society it serves. It Takes a U-n-i-t-e-d States to raise and serve all America.

William Bradford Huie discusses his book "Three Lives for Mississippi"

Excerpt

William Bradford Huie:  Yes, this actually, this conversation actually occurred.
Momentarily, I comforted one of the murderers and then left him confused. I said, well you were correct on one point. You killed Schwerner because, you said, he was an agitating, troublemaking, nigger loving, communist, atheistic, Jew, outsider. It's true that he called himself an atheist.
He did, huh? I was asked. He didn't believe in nothing?
Oh Yes, I said, he believed in something.
He believed devoutly.
What did he believe in?
He believed in you. I said.
In me? What the hell?
Yeah, I said. He believed in you. He believed love could conquer hate. He believed love could change even you. He didn't think you were hopeless. That's what got him killed.
As I say, that left the murderer somewhat confused.
