The Creature from Jekyll Island

I've had this book over five years and have yet to finish it. Why? Because its so damn scary. Actually I do go back to it from time to time. And now with all that's going on in the economy I've opened its pages once again.

The story of the Federal Reserve Bank as written in this book by G. Edward Griffin is enough to make you wanna buy a pick, shovel and tin pan, then go digging for gold around Sutter's Mill in Northern California. What you might of thought you knew, you really don't, not the full story anyway. The book makes some of our leading bankers and politicians who created our monetary system look like Bernie Madoff on steroids.

But I really shouldn't be trying to give an account of the book being that I haven't fully read it through. But I will give you one of the best reviews I've read on any book. It was posted on Amazon.com by a Stephen T. McCarthy of Phoenix,AZ USA. Please, read Stephen's review for a fun yet scary synopsis of this revealing book about money. You're being scammed if you think the Federal Reserve Bank is Federal. As stated in the book; "it is not federal and there are no reserves. Furthermore the Federal Reserve Banks are not even banks."

5.0 out of 5 stars An Evil Of MONSTROUS Proportions!, May 5, 2006
By STEPHEN T. McCARTHY (a Mensa-donkey in Phoenix, Airheadzona.) - See all my reviews

What is The Creature From Jekyll Island? Well, first of all, it's uglier than The Creature from the Black Lagoon; it's more densely wrapped in deception than the Mummy is in cloth; it sucks the lifeblood of America more ravenously than Dracula does his victims; it reeks worse than the Werewolf; and it's stronger and more dangerous than Doctor Frankenstein's miscreation!

The Creature from Jekyll Island is the PRIVATE Federal Reserve that holds America and Her People hostage with an astoundingly perverse and "criminal" economic system that is an evil beyond your worst monster-infested nightmare. But the Creature comes in a guise to mislead the people, like a Wolfman in sheep's clothing.

Why is the system "criminal"? Because the U.S. Constitution proclaims itself to be the "supreme Law of the Land" (see Article VI), and Article I, Section VIII of the Constitution states that "The Congress shall (Constitutionally speaking, "shall" has been legally defined as "must")...coin money, regulate the value thereof, and of foreign coin, and fix the standard of weights and measures." Why Congress? Because it is answerable to the People it represents! Remember, our Constitutional Republic was meant to be representational government! We're a long way from that now! The Federal Reserve is NOT Congress; it is unelected, meaning nonrepresentational, and being therefore unconstitutional, it is illegal, hence "criminal."

I first read G. Edwrd Griffin's magnificent study, 'The Creature From Jekyll Island' eight years ago. I had read plenty of political books prior to this one, and countless since, but Mr. Griffin's tour de force has yet to be equaled when it comes to educating the reader in wide-ranging topics that coalesce most of the geopolitical mysteries of our time into the diabolical scheme known as the Federal Reserve System.

Don't make the mistake of letting the sophisticated subject matter drive you away as forcefully as the intriguing title beckons you. Despite the complexity of the topic, G. Edward Griffin masterfully organizes the material and lays it out, not only in a very readable manner, but he actually fashions a carefully researched, extensively footnoted nonfiction tome into a spellbinding journey that reads nearly like a page-turning mystery novel.

In the process of explaining and demystifying the history, the stated goals of the Federal Reserve, and the real agenda behind it, Mr. Griffin necessarily enlightens the reader about myriad conspirators who occupy positions in a variety of social engineering organizations. Without this understanding, one could not possibly grasp the full scope of the problem, nor fathom how such a demonstrably evil entity could have remained cloaked and in power since 1913. (Indeed the thirteenth year of the Twentieth Century represented an unlucky number for America and eventually the world.)

You will find some reviewers here complaining that Mr. Griffin has unfortunately polluted his 600+ page study with John Birch Society style conspiracy theories. What you WON'T find is where any of those same reviewers have proven any errors in fact committed by Mr. Griffin. They challenge the idea of a conspiracy, but not any of the abundant and overt evidence that clearly points to it. I myself don't like little yapping dogs, but I'm not prepared to say that they don't exist simply because I'd prefer not to even think about them. And I can hear those yapping quadrupeds as clearly as I can see the indisputable evidence of underhanded collusion in high and influential places when it comes to this country's monetary system.

"You are a den of vipers!" President Andrew Jackson thundered at a delegation of supporters of the central Bank of the United States in 1834. "I intend to rout you out, and by the Eternal God I will rout you out!" Jackson succeeded in ridding this country of the inherent perniciousness that a central bank levels on a nation. But President Jackson's hard-earned victory for his countrymen was sadly overturned in 1913, when a corrupt privately owned central bank was again foisted on the sleeping people of this once free nation in the form of The Federal Reserve cartel. As Griffin states on page 573, "The Federal Reserve is the world's largest and most successful scam."

I will tell you plainly that regardless of what you think you know about the political spectrum, Democrats and Republicans, liberals and conservatives, civil rights and corporate greed, socialism and capitalism -- regardless of how well informed you may think you are by reading mainstream news magazines and newspapers, listening to NPR and talk radio programs and watching political debates on nightly news TV shows -- until you have read and digested G. Edward Griffin's, 'THE CREATURE FROM JEKYLL ISLAND', you will never really understand contemporary American and global politics. But afterwards, the political puzzle will come together before your eyes, and never again will you follow the red herring into the brainwashing house of mirrors which is our current political milieu.

If you're inclined to read only one political book, be sure it's this one, as it will make sense of your world like nothing else. 'THE CREATURE FROM JEKYLL ISLAND' belongs in the personal library of every American who truly cares about his or her country (regardless of political party affiliation); by rousing the people of this nation from the ignorance of deep sleep, it has the potential to be the silver bullet or the stake through the heart of America's worst monster! Read it now or the Wolfman's gonna getcha!

One reviewer makes this comment:
"You will find some reviewers here complaining that Mr. Griffin has unfortunately polluted his 600+ page study with John Birch Society style conspiracy theories. What you WON'T find is where any of those same reviewers have proven any errors in fact committed by Mr. Griffin."

This is a frequent observation made by persons who believe in conspiracy theories. So, logically, one has to conclude that ALL conspiracy theories are "factual" because nobody has "proven any errors in fact".

In reality, conspiracy theories are rarely falsifiable because they are constructed to be self-sealing, i.e. the believers do not accept normal rules of evidence and logic.

Sometimes, "facts" are not in dispute but how those facts are put together to form fair and reasonable arguments or conclusions becomes the problem. This is particularly true when individuals attempt long-distance analysis of somebody's character and motivations---especially when they have had no personal contact of any kind whatsoever with their subjects!

For an analysis of the intrinsic problems contained within most conspiracy theories see:

For a specific detailed "factual" rebuttal to John Birch Society assertions based, primarily, upon first-time-released FBI files and documents, see:
http://ernie1241.googlepages.com/jbs-1

However, let's be candid. No amount of "factual" refutation will make the slightest difference to anyone who already believes the type of conspiracy theories which Griffin and the JBS circulate.

I accidentally discovered this post of yours a few days ago when I happened to Google "Airheadzona."

First off, I want to thank you for the complimentary words related to my book review. I'm very pleased to find that you enjoyed the review.

I've read some of your sports posts now and found them very entertaining. You write well.

About the idea of conspiracy: I find it very odd that so many people automatically balk at the idea that men might conspire to reconfigure political systems. How many examples of political, economic, criminal and corporate conspiracy do you suppose we would encounter in a comprehensive study of recorded world history? Conspiracy seems to be the rule, not the exception. And yet some people choose to irrationally dismiss the idea of political conspiracy as if it's some unimaginable concept. Pshaw!

Is there a conspiracy to undermine the authority of the U.S. Constitution and replace it with some form of global government? There's no reason for anyone to assume anything when we can simply read what some of the conspirators themselves have said and written. Is there some good reason we ought not to believe the words straight from some of the horses' mouths?

Thanks again for your kind words, RaiderLegend.

Stephen: Let me preface my remarks by quoting a CORRECT observation about conspiracy theories which was made by the Birch Society on its website:

"What is fact? What is fiction? How can you know? Conspiracy theories abound on the Internet. While some may be fairly accurate, others are not. Much of what is out there goes beyond the facts into wild conjecturing, and even outright fabrication of information. This has had an effect something like Gresham's Law (‘bad money drives out good money’), in which bad information drives out good information."

IF you GENUINELY are interested in facts and truth --- then you MUST be willing to specify the methodology which you believe should be applied to ALL assertions made in anybody's "theory". Otherwise, as the JBS correctly points out, you will have no way to avoid descending into "wild conjecturing and even outright fabrication of information...in which bad information drives out good information."

So here is my simple test:

Go to Wikipedia's article which lists conspiracy theories here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conspiracy_theory_list

Choose ANY theory listed which YOU believe is absurd and absolutely FALSE.

Then contact the author(s) of or a sample of the devout believers in that theory and present your best evidence against their theory.

Then --- let us know the result.

Repeat that process 10 times (i.e attempt to refute any 10 conspiracy theories which you think are absurd and absolutely false) -- and let us know how many times you are successful at getting the author(s) and devout believers to acknowledge that you have successfully disproven their theory.

If you cannot achieve even ONE instance of them agreeing that you have disproven their theory ---- then WHAT CONCLUSION about conspiracy theories and conspiracy believers seems warranted based upon your first-hand experience?

ERNIE:
First of all, I am not a member of the John Birch Society (JBS), and nowhere have I ever claimed that the JBS is correct about every single idea it has ever espoused. In fact, on a few occasions, I have publicly warned people about conducting a thorough investigation of the JBS before considering membership. There is indeed some very questionable and suspicious circumstances in that organization’s background. In recent years, I believe that a significant body of Mormons may have gained leadership from the JBS founders who have largely died off. I feel that the JBS magazine, “The New American”, is currently the best news periodical being published.

In essence, the general JBS belief in an organized conspiracy meant to circumvent the U.S. Constitution and supplant it with a fascistic world government is very evident. It’s a fact! Your ability (or anyone else’s ability) to find a discrepancy amongst individuals or organizations here and there does not at all change the overall fact that this powerful conspiracy exists and has existed for some time. I myself have found numerous discrepancies in The Holy Bible after many years of deep study, but that does not alter the fact that large portions of The Bible – the vast majority of it – was evidently dictated by an omnipresent, prescient force we call God.

Despite your pseudo-scientific mumbo jumbo, when some of the known conspirators have, for all intents and purposes, confessed to their traitorous behavior (as partially shown in this Blog Bit); when 15 years of my personal study has confirmed their traitorous agenda; when the direction of political developments, time and time again, indicate continued success of their traitorous machinations; when a longtime Congressman known to me personally has acknowledged the existence of the traitors and their traitorous activities; and when The Holy Bible attests to the ultimate (although temporary) achievement of their traitorous goals, I would have to be a liar or a mental retard to deny the existence of this conspiracy.

Where this leaves you, Ernie, I do not know.

But having read some of the material you’ve posted on your Blogs, I suspect that perhaps your crusade against conspiracy theories is the result of your bruised ego. You say that some JBS member decades ago mocked you by poking fun at you with some little limerick that was published in your local newspaper. I can’t but wonder if peddling your anti-conspiracy theory obsession isn’t just your ego’s way of striking back at all JBS members for the old slight. If so, you crusade to your own ultimate demise. Ernie, I’m afraid you’ll still be trying to deny all conspiracy theories long after you’ve been corralled and chipped (Revelation 13:15-17).

I don’t have enough time to do all and write all that I’d like. Therefore, I certainly don’t have time enough to argue with a guy like you who denies the obviousness of what slaps your face and further curtails your Constitutional rights day-by-day. I haven’t the time to debate a blind man about whether or not there’s a lion in the road ahead.

You’ve now had your say and I’ve had mine; we’re “Even Stephen.” This conversation is now closed, but good luck to you, Brother Ernie.

OTHER READERS: Don’t take my word for anything, nor Ernie’s. Do your own OBJECTIVE research into this issue and come to your own conclusion. But research quickly: Time Is Running Out!
