Unveiling American Slavery - Buckle Up

After watching this educational video on American Slavery, I can't imagine anyone denying that systemic racism never existed in America. Some of the discoveries I found in this video filled in pieces to a historical puzzle I've been working at for years. Things like; slavery in the north, peonage and sharecropping, convict labor, emancipation proclamation, reconstruction and the great compromise of 1877. It also touches on the Constitution and Constitutional Law, where the word slavery does not appear, yet is referred to three times without naming.

Here, in this video, many unanswered questions I had about slavery are addressed to their fullest. I post this video as a personal record for my future viewing and to share its content with others. It's a must see for U.S. citizens of today, whose schools are still limited in their educational curricula on slavery and the African-American experience.

I must thank "Knowing Better," the person(s) responsible for putting together one of the most in-depth, comprehensive, connect-the-dots educational tool for learning about America's treatment of black folks. Blacks have shared America with whites and Native Americans since the first English colony of Jamestown in Virginia (established 1607). And for all the pains of injustice and inequality blacks have endured over 400 years, the American idea of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness for all still glimmers as a beautiful ray of hope for many.

O beautiful for pilgrim feet,
Whose stern, impassioned stress
A thoroughfare for freedom beat
Across the wilderness!
America! America!
God mend thine every flaw,
Confirm thy soul in self-control,
Thy liberty in law!
