Thanks For 18 Years of Greatness Sea Bass

Oakland Raiders kicker, #11 Sebastian Janikowski, is parting ways with the silver and black.

Sea Bass has been a consistently bright flame of greatness for the Raiders Organization since his arrival in 2000. The late great Al Davis knew exactly what he was getting when he used a first round pick to draft the Polish Cannon. #11 has delivered above and beyond the call of duty for almost two decades.

I believe he'll some day be in the NFL Hall of Fame. The big fella has a 63 yard field goal in his list of NFL accomplishments for Chrissakes, tying a league record at the time. I was there when the big fella attempted a 76 yard field goal. The fact a coach would even allow a kicker to attempt that long a kick is testament Janikowski's leg strength. Or maybe the carelessness of coach Lane Kiffin at the time. #11 has been the difference maker in more games than I can count on my hands and toes. At 40 years old I believe he still has some gun powder left in that cannon leg of his. A team in need of a kicker would be foolish not to give Sea Bass a look-see.

Whatever and/or wherever his journey leads him next in life, I and the Raider Nation wish nothing but the best for Sea Bass and his family. It's been a great career for #11 and I'm proud to say I was along for the ride to witness the greatness of Sebastian Janikowsi kicking in the NFL.

Always a Raider Sea Bass, A-L-W-A-Y-S a Raider!
