Targeting Biden Nominees
New Yorker Writer Blasts Effective Watchdog Group For ‘Targeting’ Biden Nominees

A writer for The New Yorker argues in a recent
article that a watchdog group vetting Joe Biden’s nominees is doing so with
occasional “racial overtones,” and laments the nonprofit’s “obstructionism” of
what critics call the president’s “radical” agenda.
The piece, published Saturday and written by Jane
Mayer, is titled “The Slime Machine Targeting Dozens of Biden Nominees.” It
criticizes the American Accountability Foundation (AAF) — a tax-exempt
government oversight and research group — for seeking to “prevent the approval
of all Biden Administration nominees.”
AAF has played an outsized role since Biden
took office, researching and digging into the pasts of his nominees. The
group’s work has contributed to preventing the appointments of Sarah Bloom
Raskin to the Federal Reserve Board, David Chipman to lead the Bureau of
Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), David Weil to the Department
of Labor, and others.
In her piece, Mayer claimed AAF is “run by conservative white men” who are “particularly focused on blocking women and people of color.” Cont'd
How To Silence Shameless False Republican Pedophilia Accusations
We've all heard the saying, he's nothing but a "lying politician." Well, in today's political atmosphere a major political party has added to this phrase. Republicans are rewriting history by earning the title "Shamelessly Lying Politicians."
Kudos to Michigan State Senator Mallory McMorrow for slapping back at false Republican accusations labeling her a "groomer" of kids i.e., pedophile. Thanks to Senator McMorrow, a nasty, Republican lying tactic was neutered ineffective, revealing the real threat to America and its children. Shameless Liars!
Rachel Maddow reported Monday, on exactly where the Republican pedophile accusation strategy comes from, and its intention to smear its target with the most monstrous label imaginable. She exposes the strategy as a tactic then Russian Head of FSB, Vladimir Putin, implemented against a Russian historian in the late 1990's to silence facts revealing a mass grave site from a massacre during Joseph Stalin's infamous "The Great Purge."
It's believed that between 1936-1938, over 750,000 people were executed in Russia because they were seen as a threat to Stalin's dictatorship.
Senator McMorrow, in her takedown response to accusations by Republican state senator Lana Theis, is standing up for what 's right and decent in America and American politics; nobody should be allowed to slander another with knowingly false accusations, period. Lana Theis's motive for using the Putin tactic is simply money. She used it in a campaigning email. So, Lana Intentionally Lied to garner campaign support funds. And Lana has yet to apologize to Senator McMorrow or potential supporters. Shameless!

Declaration of Conscience Speech - Sen. Margaret Chase Smith (1950)
72 Years ago, Sen. Margaret Chase Smith gave one of the most influential speeches of her lifetime. In her "Declaration of Conscience," she warned her party against embracing fear, ignorance, bigotry, & smear. Her warning is just as important today as it was back then.

Warriors N'Synch
The #3 seeded Golden State Warriors are expected to win their first-round playoff series matchup against 6th seed Denver Nuggets. Although the Nuggets are missing major players due to injuries, they still have last season's league mvp, Nikola Jocic, aka..."The Joker." As it stands, the Joker is expected to win this season's mvp as well. He has proven himself a force in the NBA.
Last night the Warriors took the joker out of his comfort zone, making him a mere punchline in a joke gone bad. Golden State was simply too fast & furious on offense, and tenacious on defense for the Nuggets to contend with for four quarters.
This Warriors small line-up is a scary reminder of their "Run TMC" days with coach Don Nelson, Sr. Those teams were competitive and very exciting to watch, but without a true big man, always fell short in the playoffs, delivering no championships. Difference today is they have the greatest basketball shooter ever in Steph Curry, an upcoming star in Jordan Poole, and an experienced championship pedigree built by its core players.
Sure, it's only the Denver Nuggets. And sure, the Warriors are expected to win this series. But the team synchronicity, athleticism and intelligence they've shown in two playoff games, makes it hard to deny their inevitable return to an NBA Finals; Phoenix Suns be damned!

Giants Sweep Guardians
Who Knew! The newly named Cleveland major league baseball team "Guardians" hosted the San Francisco Giants for the first time in 14 years.
The wintry Cleveland cold that greeted the west coast visitors seemed to affect the hometown team more, as the Giants completed a three-game sweep to stay tied atop the NL West division. Its 2021 all over again with the Giants and Dodgers sporting the best records in baseball.
Today's 8-1 Giants domination saw second baseman Thairo Estrada with four runs-batted-in on a most productive day. Estrada continues to pay dividends since the Yankees trade that brought him west last season. He's got power in his bat and it's making its presence felt early this season.
In case anyone is wondering just how the former "Indians" became the "Guardians" and why, know that it's a story with many facets. A complicated story that includes indigenous people's pain and pride, as well as the pride of a bridge named "Hope Memorial Bridge."
The bridge originally opened in 1932 as Lorain-Carnegie Bridge. It was renamed after a three-year concrete road replacement and renovation project (1980-83).Although I wanted to credit Cleveland with renaming the bridge as a symbolic beacon of "Hope" for its citizens, the truth is it was named for the stonemason father of a great comedian from Cleveland, who the city is honored to have had as a native son. Harry Hope, father of Bob Hope. Who Knew!
Philp Yenyo has been waiting for 20 years to take his kids to a baseball game.
Now, thanks to the Cleveland Indians' recent decision to change their name to the Cleveland Guardians, the Native American dad can finally go.
"For them to be seen as human beings instead of a sports team mascot is really important," said Yenyo, of the Mēxihcah nation.

Mind-Blowing Temptations
Hung on the casement that looked o'er the main
Fluttered a scarf of blue;
And a gay, bold breeze paused to flatter and tease
This trifle of delicate hue.
You are lovelier far than the proud skies are,
He said with a voice that sighed;
You are fairer to me than the beautiful sea--
Oh, why do you stay here and hide?
You are wasting your life in that dull, dark room
(And he fondled her silken folds)
O'er the casement lean but a little, my queen,
And see what the great world holds;
How the wonderful blue of your matchless hue
Cheapens both sea and sky;
You are far too bright to be hidden from sight,
Come, fly with me, darling, fly.
Tender his whisper and sweet his caress;
Flattered and pleased was she,
The arms of her lover lifted her over
The casement out to sea.
Close to his breast she was fondly pressed,
Kissed once by his laughing mouth;
Then dropped to her grave in the cruel wave,
While the wind went whistling south.

Juna Serita & Rina Hoshino - What is hip? {twin bass version}
If you didn't know better, with your eyes closed, you'd swear you were listening to some soulful, jazzy, funk from America's 1970's groovy era. These gurls are breaking it down. They are not just playing the music, they're feeling the music, and letting it manifest through their soulful beings.
Imagine them getting down with Grover Washington's "Mister Magic" beat. Music is simply universal. No one group or individual has full ownership of music brewed in the soul. Well, there was this one funky bassist named Bootsy Collins, but that's a story for another time.

Real or Fake Oscars Awards Slap
Eric Ting, a political editor for SFGate, is just one of many who believe the "Slap Heard Around the World" was staged. His article titled, "The elites are lying to you about the Will Smith-Chris Rock slap at the Oscars," might seem a bit conspiracy tinged, but I must say there is some meat on them their bones.
The one question that I completely agree with Eric on is this:
"If it was real, why did it look so fake?"
Sometimes it's best to go with your first impression of a person or event, and many of us concede that our first impression of the slap was a staged event for entertainment purposes. When you throw out everything that led to the slap, and everything following the slap, you are left with what many saw as over the top Hollywood trying too hard to capture their audience.
We may never know the truth of the matter. And because I feel bad for the unexpected violence impressed on viewers, I kinda hope the Oscars will apologize, while coming out and saying it was just a skit gone terribly wrong.
Scandalous happenings in Hollywood cater to a billion-dollar media industry covering it all. What's the old saying, "there's no such thing as bad publicity?" So why fake an insult and/or assault?
The answer might just come down to the money. From what I hear, the Oscars have fallen flat in television ratings the past few years. Could it be possible, promoters of this traditional movie awards event, stooped as low as a lying politician in order to win back viewers and boost ratings?
Is it possible, the American viewing public were the victims of a Will & Chris dynamic duo skit, that landed flat and morphed into a publicity monster for all involved? A monster that bites both ways? Possible? Probable? Unlikely?
I come back to the observation our political editor Eric voiced:
"If it was real, why did it look so fake?"
Maybe it looked fake because fake is what Hollywood does.

Reunited............and it Feels So Good
Nope, we aren't talking Peaches and Herb "Reunited" here folks. We're talking Fresno State Bulldogs football reunion.
Devante Adams and Derek Carr celebrate winning 2013 Mountain West Championship
All-Pro wide-receiver Devante Adams is coming to the Raiders to
"REUNITE" with his college quarterback Derek Carr. Just let that sink in for a minute Raider Nation.
Finally, a top tier receiver in his prime is joining a Raiders team that's coming off an NFL playoff appearance. The fact that Adams and Carr are former college teammates and very good friends is just icing on the cake.
Though it hasn't been made official, I'm posting what might be the best Raiders quarterback + receiver pairing since ................ I don't know, Brown/Gannon, Branch/Stabler, Wells/Lamonica.
I was already excited about the Raiders signing defensive pass rushing specialist Chandler Jones, acquired from the Arizona Cardinals.
But the game changer is getting a proven #1 wide receiver to go along with Waller, Renfrow and the rest of the offensive aerial attack.
excerpt from ESPN Staff Writer, Rob Demovsky
So Adams played out the season and had perhaps his best year, setting the single-season franchise record for catches (123) and receiving yards (1,553) last season. He became just the sixth player in NFL history with 120-plus catches, 1,500-plus yards and 11-plus touchdown catches in the same season and is the only player in NFL history with three seasons (2018, 2020-21) of 110-plus catches, 1,350-plus receiving yards and 11-plus receiving TDs.
Adams is the most accomplished wideout Carr will have had in his eight-year career.
Carr has played with talented receivers in previous years, but Amari Cooper was still early in his career while Michael Crabtree's best days were behind him. Both fell out of favor with Carr. Then there was Antonio Brown, whose self-imposed implosion got him released before ever appearing in a regular-season game. Henry Ruggs III was starting to come into his own last season before he was involved in a high-speed car crash that killed a 23-year-old woman in Las Vegas; Ruggs was cut.
Now with Adams in the fold, so long as the Raiders' offensive line improves, Carr should have no excuses not to thrive.
ESPN's Paul Gutierrez and David Purdum contributed to this report.
Raider Nation welcomes Devante Adams to the Silver & Black!

Hey Mike Pence, If You Could Have Overturned Presidential Election, Would You Have?
Former vice-president Mike Pence made headlines recently when he came out publicly and said, "President Donald Trump is wrong," that he, Mike Pence, could not overturn the election. Many are applauding Pence's strong rebuke of the Jan 6th insurrection, along with his willingness to call Trump wrong about anything.
But those of us who, for four frustrating years, watched as Pence and so many republicans went against their sworn pledge to support and defend the United States, choosing instead to support and defend an autocratic President, are not buying Pence's political push.
What makes a politician finally come out to publicly tell the truth about an incident, after deflecting from that truth and keeping silent about false claims against it? Is it his God-fearing religious beliefs that make it sinful to tell a lie? Is he preparing to finally tell the truth to the Jan 6th insurrection investigating committee about what he knew and when he knew it? Is he trying to confess away his political sins in order to gain support for a clean-slated presidential run in 2024?
And what makes a man who has been silently complicit in crimes, choose to come forward or continue to hide behind his silence? Answer: bravery or cowardice. Mind you, Pence is not changing his political position, nor is he stepping away from supporting trump and the stolen election lie. He's just stating his constitutional rights as vice-president.
But in the world of trump, it's a big thing when any member goes rogue with truth-telling, thereby revealing trump wrongs. And although Pence appears to be saving his own skin from possible charges stemming from the Jan. 6th investigation, he now has a chance to make amends for becoming unpatriotic to his country; he can return to honoring his constitutional pledge and help righting the wrongs that led our country to the brink of dictatorship.
As this blog title states, I want to hear Mike Pence answer the question that his rebuke of trump raises; would Mike Pence have overturned the presidential election if he, as vice-president, had the right under the constitution to do so? And if so, why?
It's a question that any and every American citizen, regardless of political party affiliation, should want to hear him answer. I'm sure the trump supporters who stormed the capitol and setup gallows to hang Mike Pence and other politicians would like to know. And I'm sure those future voters looking for some sort of allegiance to democracy in their politicians, need to hear as assurance their votes count.
It's a question which makes one better understand exactly why the founding fathers of these United States of America did not outright give vice-presidents power to overturn Electoral Counts; insurrection can ensue just at the mere thought.
The Electoral Count Act of 1887 (ECA) (Pub.L. 49–90, 24 Stat. 373,[1] later codified at Title 3, Chapter 1[2]) is a United States federal law adding to procedures set out in the Constitution of the United States for the counting of electoral votes following a presidential election. The Act was enacted by Congress in 1887, ten years after the disputed 1876 presidential election, in which several states submitted competing slates of electors and a divided Congress was unable to resolve the deadlock for weeks.[3] Close elections in 1880 and 1884 followed, and again raised the possibility that with no formally established counting procedure in place partisans in Congress might use the counting process to force a desired result.[4]
The Act aims to minimize congressional involvement in election disputes, instead placing the primary responsibility to resolve disputes upon the states.[4][5] The Act sets out procedures and deadlines for the states to follow in resolving disputes, certifying results, and sending the results to Congress. If a state follows these "safe harbor" standards and the state's governor properly submits one set of electoral votes, the Act states that that "final" determination "shall govern."[6][7] However, making or use of "any false writing or document" in the implementation of this procedure is a felony punishable by 5 years imprisonment by 18 U.S. Code 1001 under Chapter 47 Fraud and False Statements.
I once had a family member "rescued" from a cult. Our family had to implement a deprogramming system in order to help the individual "reunite" with themself and thereby their family. It took time and plenty of faith healing before the individual was no longer at risk to return to the cult. Then one day it was as if they decided to walk through the loving family doorway the cult had somehow hidden fog-like from their mental view. The doorway had always been there, it was just the individual's inner sight and love for family had been glazed over and misplaced.
Reminds me of the song Amazing Grace; "I once was lost but now I'm found, was blind but now I see."
So, come'on Iron Mike. You opened the door to truth and put one foot across the threshold, why not step all the way through and "be the change you would like to see in the world." You should know from bible study, "there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open." Luke 8:17

"Who Dey"
The Cincinnati Bengals are going to Super Bowl LVI. They got there by going through the defending champions in Kansas City. Yes, football fans, the Bengals, led by second year quarterback Joe Burrow (2019 NCAA Heisman Trophy winner and National Championship MVP) went into Arrowhead Stadium and pulled off the upset of the playoffs by beating the KC Chiefs. QB Patrick Mahomes will not be participating in a third straight Super Bowl game.
Who Dey? Well, the Bengals are a team who believed all season they could compete with the best. And after this weekend's 27-24 overtime victory over the highly favored Chefs, the rest of the football world have become believers."Who Dey?" "Dey Who" say dey' gone beat dem' Chiefs.
Meanwhile, the San Francisco 49ers blew a 17-7 lead and the game against the Los Angeles Rams. Today's niners blame talk fell into two camps; those fans who felt the dropped interception by safety Jaquiski Tarrt in the 4th quarter could have assured them a victory, and those who thought the all-too-familiar faults of quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo were yet again too self-inflicting to overcome.
Not sure if it was the 49ers faulty offense or Rams dominating defense causing the Niners to go cold in the 4th quarter, but cold they went, along with their chances of securing a Super Bowl berth.
I agree with one radio host I heard today say the 49ers inability to run the ball effectively against a resurgent Rams defensive line meant Jimmy had to beat them with his arm. Sporting a 10-point lead heading into the 4th quarter, Jimmy simply couldn't stop being Jimmy, and the rams were given a chance to be the Rams.

Warriors Win on my visit to Chase Center
Just wanna jot down some notes after my first Warriors game at Chase Center.
I suppose Chase Arena is nice, with all the amenities and sights a fan with excess dollars would enjoy. Unfortunately, I’m not all that impressed with sports venues and game entertainment, especially the loud, timeout/halftime entertainment that mostly seems over the top.
No, it's the game and/or fan reaction to plays that hypes me up or chaps my hyde. That being said, Warriors fans last night seemed average for Warriors fans. On television it appears the arena is buzzing nonstop with yelling and cheering fans, then the team usually responds. Not so much so on this Thursday night against the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves. There were moments of uproar accompanying Warriors runs, but nothing like what I expected.
As for the game, the Timberwolves, who beat the Warriors once this season, were competitive and put up a good fight. They led at halftime 61-57. Then came the second half, third quarter, where the Warriors came out and went on a 16-4 run. The Wolves, especially Karl Anthony Towns, wouldn’t lay down, but in the end succumbed to the many weapons in the Warriors arsenal, minus Draymond.
One highlight of the night was getting to the floor postgame to watch the shoot around. Got to see Andrew Wiggins, Nemanja Bjelica and Steph Curry each warm-up individually. Steph’s warmup routine is so loose and flexible, yet accurate and consistent. Wiggins and Bjelica were knocking down long range shots like it was nothing, nothing but net.
Then across the court strolls a brotha in an expensive suit heading for a courtside seat near the scorer’s table, where a TNT camera will broadcast his postgame comments. Its hall of famer Reggie Miller, not twenty paces away from where I am sitting. Reggie, straight faced and all business, takes his seat facing us fans, puts on a headset, checks a digital device and straightens up his attire, all without raising an eye to us fans watching his pregame, sportcaster’s ritual. I almost wanted to heckle Reggie just to get a response out of him, but I’m no Spike Lee and the environment was family friendly, so I took a few pics and kept my Raiders Trap shut. Did I mention I wore my Raiders cap to the game?

Can NFL Conference Champ. Games Top Divisional Round Classics? I Think Not!
It's Tuesday and I'm finally catching my breath from watching what is being considered the best weekend of NFL Playoff games ever broadcast.
This coming weekend features four teams playing in two Conference Championship games. I expect a bit of a letdown after such a high football climax this past weekend. The 49ers and Rams should be interesting. This NFC championship game is like "civil war," between California's North and South, San Francisco vs Los Angelews. Two division rival teams battling to represent California in the Big Show!
On paper, the Rams should mop up the floor with their northern cousin 49ers. However, the Niners have had their southern cousin Rams number in the last six meetings between the two. Mind you, none of those previous meetings were in the Playoffs.
Just a reminder, the Dodgers took the MLB NL divisional round series 3-2 over the Giants in a baseball thriller.
As for the AFC matchup between the Bengals and Chiefs, let's just say one is just happy as pie to be there, God bless their Ohio hearts, while the other has been on a mission to return to their third consecutive Super Bowl, to make up for the one they lost last season. Can Cincy pull off a miracle on the road at Arrowhead Stadium? Judging by this past weekend's unbelievable games, I'd say it's the Kansas City Chiefs who need to be concerned.

Klay Returns, Ja Morant Jaw-Drops, Raiders Playoff Bound
On a night the Raiders clinched an NFL playoff birth, Golden State Warriors all-star Klay Thompson returned after a two year NBA absence due to injuries.
Game night at Chase Center was dubbed “Klay Area,” a nod to San Franciso Bay Area’s love and respect for Klay. Number 11 came out and played better than most expected, putting up 17pts. with a nasty slam dunk to show the NBA there’s no rust in his game. Welcome Back Klay!
Meanwhile, captain of the sky last night was Memphis Grizzlies Ja Morant, who captured the imaginations of cape-wearing kids worldwide with his amazing, high-flying block of a Lakers lay-up attempt.
It was like no other block I’ve ever seen, in NBA or elsewhere. It seemed as if his intention all along wasn’t to swat the shot away, but to snag it out of the atmosphere, come down in possession and control of ball and push it back down the court toward his basket. For the most part, his mission was accomplished.
The coordination, athleticism and and grace of Morant’s actions, not to mention the height of his gravity-defying feat, resembled a circus act practiced and performed hundreds of times. Descriptions of the block just don’t do it justice, so here you have it. “Superfly”

The Longest Yard
Finally, after a week full of NFL Playoff picture picks and possibilities, football Sunday has arrived. The final week of the season is upon us, and the Raiders are in the playoff conversation. In a game rescheduled (flexed) to Sunday Night national broadcasting, the Raiders will host the Chargers to likely determine which team will grab the final AFC wildcard seed (7th).
In week 4 the Chargers won 28-14 in Los Angeles. If ever there was a revenge game the Raiders looked forward to, this game is it. With a trip to the playoffs on the line, this AFC West division rival matchup becomes more than just another game and much more than a payback game. It is Thee game to watch this Sunday and Thee game for the Raiders to win.
The wait is over, the bets and predictions are in. Football Sunday is upon us. Let the game begin!
