This is why the study of history is so important. Those left wondering what sparked today's conflicts between Ukraine/Russia, Israel/Palestine, or India/Pakistan need look at the history behind relations of said countries. What we outside these border country disputes interpret as senseless and unprovoked attacks are actually uprisings from previous regional conflicts.
Something from one country's past relationship with another pertaining to territory, annexation, border security, or just plain old imperialism has likely come back to bite them in the keister.
And more times than not, the birth of these conflicts involved third-party countries and post-war decisions. So, before any of us choose to protest another country's behavior toward its neighbor, we should at least educate ourselves on the history of the dispute. War and conflicts are known to leave a nasty and lasting taste in the mouths of those involved. And then there's the children.
War is not the gift that keeps on giving but the hell that keeps on destroying.
