Giants Blake Snell No-Hits Cincy

San Francisco Giants Pitcher Blake Snell throws a Friday Night No-Hitter in Cincinnati

Earlier this week the big question for the Giants was what team they might deal Blake Snell to before the Tuesday trade deadline.  After his historic Friday night performance against the Cincinnati Reds, it's apparent why the Giants held onto the two-time Cy Young award winner.

Blake Snell recorded his first career no-hitter tonight, the 18th for the franchise dating back to 1891. It's also his first complete game. The 31-year-old left-hander struck out 11 batters as he threw 114 pitches, 78 for strikeouts. It was the third no-no of the season.

Congratulations Blake Snell
As much as it is an individual achievement for Snell, it is also a huge, timely accomplishment for a Giants team who chose to ride out the season on horses they rode in on. It is a much-needed win but is also a booster shot in the arm for a team playing catchup for a postseason seed.

Let's Go Giants!!!

Giants 3
Reds 0  0  0
