Warriors Right Ship in Gm 3 Win

Moody’s Mood

Moses Moody was just one of many Golden State Warriors to step up and produce in a pivotal first round NBA playoff game last night. Down two games to none in a seven game series againt the Sacramento Kings, and without Draymond Green nor Gary Payton II, the Warriors made adjustments and came away with a 114-97 must have home victory.

Kevon Looney controlled the boards with 20 rebounds, Donte DiVincenzo aka “White Chocolate 2.0” was amazing running the floor and finding the open man. He had 8 assists. And my boy Moses Moody added thirteen points to go along with some much needed Warriors defense, causing fits for the Kings. Moody, DiVincenzo, Kuminga, J.Green, and Lamb stepped up and played the Warriors style of basketball. They found that rhythm!

Ball movement with limited turnovers, unrushed and in control fast paced offense, smothering defense with limited fouling. And it seemed coach Steve Kerr was more involved, moving pieces around like a chess master again.

On a night where Warriors 3-pt shooting was below average, their defense kept the Kings shooting way below theirs. I can’t be the only Warriors fan wondering if Draymond Green should come off the bench when he returns from his one game suspension come Sunday’s game 4.

The energy, athleticism, and scoring threats the Warriors threw at the Kings simply overwhelmed whatever gameplan the Kings thought they could roll with. The Kings were a series low in 3-pt shots made percentage (23%), and series high in turnovers (15).

I grew up in New York where the late, great DJ, “chief rocker Frankie Crocker” of WBLS shutdown his music radio show each day with an old classic jazzy tune called Moody’s Mood. It wasn’t the best jazz song, and it was a bit outdated, but it had a style and grace that matched the silky smooth voice of Frankie Crocker. I think he would approve of using the song as a tribute to last night’s Warriors feat of shutting down a Kings team who gave them headaches in the prior two games of the series.

Style & Grace!

“There I go, there I go, there I go, there I go ooooo!”
