The Trump Tapes

"The only reason that the father got a good funeral was because of me. Because they figured by building up Bush that makes me look bad, you know what I mean?"

- excerpt from "The Trump Tapes" by Bob Woodward  (7:45:33)

For those citizens who do not believe the 2020 Presidential Election was stolen, you owe it to yourselves to listen to at least some of Bob Woodward's "The Trump Tapes" audiobook. To hear the former President converse one-on-one over the phone with an unbiased interviewer confirms the flaws, both hidden and glaring, that video footage blurs.

For those Trump Supporters who believe 45 can do no wrong, listening to the tapes might have the exorcising effect of a cross put in front of a vampire. Then again, supporters would probably seize on the ego-flattering method of interviewing Trump, as if Woodward sees and agrees with the prowess and victimhood, they choose to see in him.

What supporters and non-supporters of 45 will hear in "The Trump Tapes" is a hyped salesman trying desperately to sell the one commodity he believes in: himself. He is simply following the rules of salesmanship, which is sell yourself not the product. Problem is the Trump brand lacks what a democratic society needs in a leader, mainly strong leadership.

Woodward's method of interviewing Trump exposes disturbing truths about the former President's inability to listen, mentally process, and respond with reasonable intelligence, as expected of any leader of the free world.  To hear Trump speak, without cameras rolling or a distracting circus of both sycophants and critics around, it becomes clear 45 has no real interest in leadership, honesty, dialogue, decency, principle, precedent, patriotism: allegiance to one's country

His toolkit is simply not equipped with these much-needed virtuous Presidential instruments. The only tools in his bag are not really Presidential devices at all, but salesman's tricks. (The Art of the Deal)

As I've stated before, he keeps no promise and respects no pledge.

Unfortunately, for our democratic country, he has pulled every dirty trick out of his "celebrity apprentice" bag, to weaken the landscape of politics and leadership in America. Because to someone the likes of 45, all that really matters is 45. The interests of America are not his concern. The health of America is not his concern. The freedom and fairness of America is not his concern. To him, Truth and Justice are only as important as their confirmation and approval of what he says, thinks and does. Any other truths are simply lies and attacks against him.

The really scary part of listening to Trump converse with Woodward, is how he seems unable to concern himself with anything other than himself. He gets so caught up in selling himself as the best U.S. President, on par with Abraham Lincoln, he fails to see the unintended opposite effect his words and way of thinking have on Woodward.

He's as oblivious to the interviewer's uncomprehending reactions as he is to being accountable for inciting his supporters to violently storm the United States Capitol after his speech in Washington D.C., on Jan. 6, 2021.

He's not just indecent, immoral, narcissistic, and hateful. He is dangerous to all, because he's convinced he is a "stable genius." He doesn't understand why 70% of the country, and majority of the rest of the world, does not recognize his self-proclaimed higher intellect and leadership qualities. Well, if 45 is reading this post, here's why:
