Dodgers Eliminated, Yankees On-The-Brink

This is why I love October Baseball. When your team misses the postseason and teams you love to hate suffer embarrassing postseason losses, it makes the regular season worthwhile.

The 111-win Dodgers didn't ColLApse against the Padres in their NLDS series loss, they were simply outplayed by a better team with more hunger in their bellies for a championship.

The 5th seeded San Diego Padres are heading to Major League Baseball's NLCS round to face the 6th seeded Philadelphia Phillies. Which just goes to prove yet again that in the MLB Postseason you can throw out the regular season records of all participants. And that is why we watch the games.

Meanwhile, over in American League Land, the media darling Yankees awake this morning to a win-or-go-home scenario. Last night's ALDS game 3 found the newly named Cleveland Guardians down two runs in the bottom of the 9th inning against one of the best teams in baseball featuring the best single season home run hitter since Barry Bonds.

Three runs later the Guardians are seen storming the field in walk-off winning fashion after a comeback for the ages. Guardians rookie hero Oscar Gonzalez does it again with a two out, two run single, putting the Yankees ALCS hopes in serious jeopardy. And again, this is why we watch the games.

Somewhere in Cleveland there's a red-blooded American dressed up in old Indians Baseball gear, howling while performing a circular war dance in preparation for today's Game 4 showdown. You buddy are why they play the games...
