Warriors Historic Season Ends In Loss

Shoulda Coulda Woulda! But in the end it was the Cavaliers with the greatest basketball player on the planet winning the NBA Championship. Congratulations Cavaliers on a historic comeback to beat the Golden State Warriors in the Finals.

No Warriors excuses on this blog. The team just didn't play like they had all season long. Injuries? Fatigue? Coaching? Conspiracy? Harrison Barnes? Drammond Suspension? Ayeesha Curry Tweets? Any and all of these questions will be argued and debated during the off season. In Cleveland however you'll find a different tone; no questions, no second guessing, just a boisterous validation of what team commitment and hard work can accomplish.

The closest to an excuse I will post for the Warriors is that they partially beat themselves in game seven. The Cavaliers made the shots they had to make and the Warriors did not, period.

Why couldn't the Warriors make the shots that they'd made in crunch time throughout the season and much of the playoffs? There lies the elephant in the room that needs to be addressed if the Warriors wanna become a dynasty.

Here's one that the bay area might be able to sink their teeth into. It's 2016, an even year playoff run. Maybe the silver lining for the Warriors is they win Championships in odd-numbered years like 2015. Only time will tell.

Thank you Golden State Warriors for giving us a Bay Area Basketball Season like no other.  It truly was a historic run. We fans are proud to be Warriors Fans do or die. Strength In Numbers baby!

Sports Fan Favorites

Saw this pic accompanied by a SFGate.com article about the improved Raiders Defense. Tell me as a Raiders fan that seeing this picture of 49ers quarterback Colin Kapernick swallowed up by punishing silver & black jerseys doesn't get you pumped. Hell,  I'm ready to throw on my black Raiders jersey and go out and tackle someone right now; in June!

Problem with that is everyone in the Bay Area are united in wearing Warriors & Sharks playoffs gear. Can't wait for football season to start.

Warriors Record Breaking Finals Win In Cleveland

Splash!
The Defending NBA Champion Golden State Warriors took down the Cavaliers in Cleveland to go up 3 games to 1 in the Finals.  It was the first non-blowout game of the series and the boys in blue and gold pulled it out in typical Warriors fashion.

Down by five points at the half the Warriors came out in the second half and broke a NBA Finals game record by finishing with 17 three-point baskets. They're defense also returned to form as they harassed the Cavaliers offense and if I read the stat correctly, out-rebounded them.

The Cavaliers were game coming into the game, but the Warriors, with two-time league MVP Steph Curry (38pts), simply weren't going to be denied. They turned up their intensity and came away with a decisive win on the road; giving the Cavalier's their first home loss in the 2016 playoffs. Yes, the other Splash Brother (Klay Thompson) also found his stroke in contributing 25 points.

Key moves by Warriors coach Steve Kerr were bringing in little used James McAdoo and of course playing last year's Finals MVP Andre Igoudala most of the game. The game is all about match-ups. I won't say the Cavaliers are no match for the Golden State Warriors, but seeing is believing as the Warriors can clinch back to back Championships with a game 5 win Monday in Oakland.

Until then, we Warriors fans can finally sit back and enjoy the fat lady humming. With a win Monday, any and every critic of this seasons' Historic Record Breaking Warriors can Kiss My Grits!

44 Saves In Game 5 Win For SJ Sharks Goalie

Martin Jones was phenomenal in Game 5. Jamie Sabau/Getty Images

Martin Jones definitely earned his paycheck, and some much deserved respect, with his reliable goalie play in Game 5 of the NHL Finals. The San Jose Sharks fended off a Cup seeking Penguins squad in Pittsburgh, to keep alive their hopes for a first ever Stanley Cup championship.

The Sharks come home to San Jose to play game six. I admit I've been a bit preoccupied with the Golden State Warriors and their quest to repeat as NBA Champions. But after watching tonight's NHL Finals game with the Sharks bending but not breaking, I'll be tuned in to all remaining playoff games on Ice. It's as exciting a game as anything in sports.

As a fan you barely have enough time to take a breath between yelling and screaming at the television.  And your bound to throw at least one object at the tele in frustration and just sheer adrenaline rush. Hockey is an electrifying sport.

Don't sleep on this Sharks team. They might be down 3-2 in the Finals Series, but they're definitely still in the hunt. Give'em hell Jonesey!

Keep it going Sharks!

Sharks 4
